Making Entrepreneurial Dreams A Reality With Toronto Women
This week was a big one for us here at ThinkHatch! Our founder and President, Emily Foucault was a judge at the first ever ‘Build your Dream’ Accelerator Program at Toronto-based women focused co-working space, Make Lemonade. The program was designed to give 10 women-identified people a space to operate their growing businesses, access to one-on-one business coaching on brand strategy, business coaching and financial mentorship at no cost and a kickass community to join.
A call for women entrepreneurs to be part of the six-month program went out earlier this summer, with 75 entering in all. The top 15 presented at the Make Lemonade space on Tuesday night, fitting their business plan, passion and goals for the future into short three-minute presentations.
To say we were inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit, business ideas and potential from all the women who were part of the event would be a HUGE understatement. From subscription services for feminine hygiene products with a charitable twist to responsible clothing manufacturing solutions and Canadian made athletic wear to event staffing, the businesses presented were awe-inspiring and the hard work that has gone into each one was very evident. But Emily, along with financial strategy mentor Lisa Zamparo and coaching and growth strategy mentor Katrina McKay, were handed the tough task of choosing the ten businesses that would get mentoring time with each of them, a Whole Lemon: Fixed Desk membership at Make Lemonade for six months and a weekly accountability group to keep projects on track.
Without further adieu, here’s the list of women who will be joining Emily, Lisa and Katrina at Make Lemonade for the accelerator program over the next six months.
